When to worry about hair loss?

As already mentioned, a moderate loss of hair is normal and completely physiological, both in men and women.

However, it is always good to listen to the signals that your body provides and pay attention to some symptoms. First of all, if you notice that hair loss is not just a temporary event but tends to persist, perhaps it is better to try to investigate the causes of this phenomenon. This especially if other symptoms such as itching, pain, redness of the scalp and dandruff are manifested in addition to the fall of hair: may be signs of some imbalance, deficiency, dermatological disorder or sensitivity to certain substances. In the event that, despite all the necessary precautions and remedies adopted, hair loss does not seem to stop, then it is advisable to consult a doctor to investigate the causes of this problem. The specialist in this case is the trichologist (trichology is a branch of dermatology) that during the visit will perform a hair test to assess the deterioration. Depending on the condition of your hair, the doctor may propose some exams. Among these the most used are the tricogramma, a microscope survey, and the mineralogram, to identify possible nutritional deficiencies that, as already mentioned, can cause hair loss.
